I picked a friend up from the airport on Monday night. He had been in England studying with La Brie (which could be wrong spelling, and I hope I will be forgiven for it).

It was so good to see him after so much time. We got a little turned around in Long Beach, but found Roscoe's and enjoyed chicken and waffles under good conversation.
As I was talking to my mom about it the other day she said, "Relationships are important to you, aren't they?" They are. This semester has let me realize what a priority I place on friendship, over almost anything else in my life. People are so good to me, and I treasure them dearly. Each time I encounter a friend, new or old, I remember the times I felt I had none and feel blessed.

On Wednesday my dear friend Sarah had her birthday, celebrated by our monthly picnic in the park, decadent cupcakes and a dinosaur cake I made for her with a volcano on it. Beauty has never been such in my life.

Who is Virgil? A flanel wearing, bearded killer brewing rootbeer I swear was made in Heaven.
